AMHS Welcomes New Assistant Principal
December 10, 2018
On Monday November 26th, Amityville Memorial High School welcomed a new member to its faculty, assistant principal, Mr. Suckle. As the high school’s new assistant principal he has many roles which include, but are not limited to being in charge of the senior class and building the master teaching schedule. Before taking this position he worked at two other high schools on Long Island. Mr. Suckle worked at Valley Stream Central as the social studies chairperson and at Elmont High School as a social studies teacher and the dean of students. He will miss the AP Capstone seminar the most from his previous school.
Mr. Suckle was driven to become an assistant principal at Amityville as he wanted a bigger role and enjoys working with people. So far, he is enjoying his first few days Amityville, as he describes his first impressions of the school as it having “very nice students and very friendly staff.”
Describing his high school experience as “normal,” Mr. Suckle notes that he enjoyed his time in high school. He attended O’Fallon High School in Illinois for three years. He played soccer and says he did well in his classes. He also mentioned that he attended O‘Fallon High School for only three out of the four years because he had to move due to his parents being in the military.
Outside of school, Mr. Suckle enjoys spending as much time as possible with his three children. Among the many things he enjoys doing with them, he loves to watch movies and play Monopoly with them.
