“The Joker”

Joaquin Phoenix is a vivid, operatic Joker, but the movie is way too full of itself.

“The Joker” was released on October 4th, 2019. Critics say that, “The truth is, it’s just a movie — a fine movie, not a great movie, a movie that will please the specific subculture of fans it aims to service, while those who have survived this long without caring about comic-book movies can go on not caring.” A lot of people didn’t like the movie. It is currently pulling 68% on Rotten Tomatoes.

I went to watch it as well, and I didn’t like it at all. I slept through like 20 minutes of the movie because it was that BORING. A lot of people didn’t even go to watch the movie just because they saw how bad the trailer was.

“The Joker” trailer didn’t show a lot other than how the character would look. The filmmakers didn’t really explain what year the movie was based on, but it says that the movie was based on the year 1981. Many people were very confused about the timeline of the movie. No one really knew what to expect from the movie. A lot of people were intrigued when they saw Bruce Wayne as a child and how he was driven to become the protector of Gotham City, The Dark Knight, aka Batman. The Dark Knight has had a fair amount of battles with enemies, but The Joker is his most formidable.

“The Dark Knight” Joker was so much better than this. Played by actor Heath Ledger, this was an astounding movie with an astounding Joker. This Joker was full of himself (Joker always is) but Heath Ledger knew his limits. Joaquin Phoenix had no limits and made the character horrible. ‘The Joker’ 2019 film isn’t a good film and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
