An exciting endeavor is underway from one of our very own recent graduates. Noah Laforest, from the Class of 2021, is now a senior at NYU’s prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, where he has been studying film for the past four years.
For his final project as a film student undergrad, Noah’s senior thesis is in the beginning stages of filming the pilot episode of what would be a full dramedy series.
As Noah recently shared with us:
Ti Blan is a dramedy that tells the story of Junior, a Haitian-American teen sent to live with his estranged grandmother. Through reconnecting with his roots while working at the family restaurant, Junior navigates the tensions between cultural expectations and his personal dreams of becoming an artist. Inspired by my own experiences, it explores themes of identity, family, and the balance between personal aspirations and cultural expectations.
Noah and his team are currently raising funds through Seed & Spark, and any contribution would help them reach their goal. You can find the campaign here:

They’ve also recently launched an Instagram page for the show: @tiblan.series where you can follow their journey as another great way to show your support!
Good luck, Noah! We’re so proud of you!
