On April 11, Amityville Memorial High School’s Student Councli club hosted its first-ever “Amityville Feud,” a spirited competition that brought students and teachers together for a fun-filled showdown in the school auditorium.
Inspired by the popular television game show Family Feud, the event featured grade-level student teams facing off against one another, while two groups of teachers also competed in preliminary rounds. Senior Adonis Lyons, dressed as the iconic host Steve Harvey, emceed the event, presenting questions centered around the everyday habits of students and teachers.
The excitement peaked in a final round between the sophomore class and the teacher team, with the teachers ultimately claiming victory in a best-of-three series. Advisor, Ms. Wilsher said of the event, “The Student Council was very excited to plan our 1st Amityville Feud! It was a fun way to bring the school together right before Spring Break. We saw it almost as a re-match from the Battle of the Classes done before Christmas Break. I was excited that teachers got to join in on the fun too!”
The event was part of the school’s broader effort to promote a positive and engaging school culture. By organizing interactive activities like “Amityville Feud,” the high school aims to boost student involvement and strengthen the sense of community.
