10. Twilight (2008)

This movie set the tone for hopeless romantics everywhere. The battle of love for a human girl which was fought by a vampire and a werewolf. Die hard fans would unite every year in hopes of more movie releases. It showcased the emotions that every high school girl endured (but more dramatically). This movie went from being a bestselling book into a movie phenomenon. 

9. The Notebook (2004)

This is the single most over-hyped romantic movie of all time. However, even with its hype, it remains one of the best love stories ever told. Within this film, you see the true meaning of love can overcome anything. The two different worlds meeting is sure to swell any romantics heart. 

8. 50 First Dates (2004)

On a lighter note, this film is the go-to rom-com for anyone who’s feeling down. You see a woman who suffers from amnesia and awakens to a new day with her previous memories wiped. Adam Sandler plays a lovable dork, who falls for her and carries the weight of having to remind the girl of their love story everyday. In a way similar to the girl. Every time you watch it, it’s like the first time again. 

7. A Star is Born (2018)

In this movie you watch a country music star’s career (Jackson Maine) begin to fade. He finds not only love, but also talent one night in a woman named Ally played by the Lady Gaga. The love story is tragic yet one of the best told in cinematic history. 

6. Love and Basketball (2000) 

Writer and director, Gina Prince-Bythewood took the world by storm with this movie that showcased something more than just love, but black love. The movie shows two kids by the name of Quincy and Monica. They start as kids, go through college together, and eventually see each other through their adult years. Interested in love that overcomes any conflict with the power of fate? This is the movie for you. 

5. 10 Things I Hate About You (1999) 

A classic teen rom-com that touched the hearts of all. This film caused us along with Julia Stiles’ character to fall in love with the actor, Heath Ledger. This movie deals with the classic dilemma of stubborn girl meets an overly confident boy. Includes a touching poem, making the inspiration of Shakespeare shine through the screen.

4. Pretty Woman (1990)

The queen herself of romance, Julia Roberts bursts through the screen in this classic. This raunchy movie tells the unlikely story of people with extremely different occupations falling in love. The amount of iconic scenes seen in this movie is uncountable. 

3. Ghost (1990)

Patrick Swayze, an actor who will be mentioned more than once in this article, stars aside Demi Moore. The movie has the perfect mixture of tears and heart-filled moments. This movie shows love lives on even after death. Includes the hilarious, Whoopi Goldberg who radiates in the film. She would go on to win an Oscar for her performance. 

2. The Fault in Our Stars (2014)

John Green showcases his New York Times bestseller excellently in this love story. The story includes two cancer bound teenagers who find interest in a book bringing them together on many levels. They begin to live life as if each day is their last, going on trips as well as ups and downs along the way.

Last but not certainly not least. The chemistry between both Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze warms up your screen in this movie. Taking place during the summer time, you see amazing dance moves as well as acting. From the soundtrack to the final dance number, this movie lifts the hearts of all. Can’t forget the famous quote, “Nobody puts Baby in a corner.” Just like no one should put this movie in the corner.
