Amityville Memorial High School recognized its top 10 student from the Class of 2026 during the Board of Education meeting on March 18 at Park Avenue Memorial Elementary School.
The scholars were honored for their exceptional academic achievements and years of dedication to their studies. Principal Dr. John Cardone, along with Assistant Principals Mary Frances Hopkins, Angelica Rodriguez, and Dr. Maria Vineyard, congratulated the scholars and highlighted the hard work, perseverance, and commitment that led to their success.
Earning the title of valedictorian is Christian Chicas, who holds the highest academic ranking in the graduating class. Elidi Laquidara was recognized as salutatorian, earning the second-highest rank among the Class of 2026.
The remaining members of the top 10 scholars are Heidy Chavez, Ryan Daly, Remi Johnson, Brian Lucena Perez, Daniel Salazar, Sydney McPherson, Angelina Gomez, and Eghosa Ojo.
Together, these students have distinguished themselves through outstanding academic performance and a dedication to excellence throughout their high school careers. Their accomplishments reflect countless hours of studying, participation in rigorous coursework, and a commitment to achieving their goals.
During the recognition ceremony, administrators applauded the scholars not only for their academic success but also for the leadership and positive influence they have demonstrated within the school community.
